Research into a cure for Alzheimer's disease

Applications closed on January 30, 2006.

Alzheimer’s Australia Research Limited (AAR) is calling for research proposals from Australian research centres with proven track records in Alzheimer’s research for research into a cure for Alzheimer’s disease.

The Jack and Ethel Goldin Foundation has pledged $250,000 over 3 to 5 years for biomedical research that specifically focuses on a cure for Alzheimer’s disease.

Proposals must demonstrate an innovative approach to developing a cure for Alzheimer’s disease. Preference will be given to proposals which meet the following criteria:

  • High quality proposals supported by research centres with well respected track records in Alzheimer’s disease research
  • Funding of a substantial project rather than topping up existing funding
  • Building Australia’s capacity to develop cures for Alzheimer’s disease in the context of the international research effort.
