2010 Dementia Grants Program
Applications for the 2010 Dementia Grants Program are Now Open!
In 2010 AAR is pleased to offer a range of awards grants including new investigator grants, grants into dementia care and travel grants as well as postgraduate scholarships and postdoctoral fellowships.
2010 AAR Dementia Research Grants
The AAR Dementia Research Grants are seeding grants for new researchers, valued up to $25,000 (exclusive of GST), to be allocated for research in a dementia-relevant area. In 2010, five grants will be offered. Grants are awarded in both biological/non-clinical and clinical/psychosocial research areas.
Applications are now open and will close on Monday 12 April 2010 for funding in 2011. Further information is provided in the application form.

2010 Hazel Hawke Research Grants in Dementia Care
The Hazel Hawke Research Grant is seeding grant, valued up to $25,000 (exclusive of GST) for research into dementia care. Suitable projects might include research into carer support, best quality care practices, activities and non-pharmaceutical therapies for people with dementia, or any other aspect of dementia care research. Two grants will be offered in 2010.
Applications are now open and will close on Monday 12 April 2010 for funding in 2011. Further information is provided in the application form.

2010 Rosemary Foundation Travel Grant
The Rosemary Foundation Travel Grant, offered in partnership with the Rosemary Foundation, is a travel project grant up to the value of $15,000 (exclusive of GST) to enable an Australian researcher or clinician to travel overseas for a period of approximately one month, and learn new techniques and/or network with well known international research teams at a hospital or university outside Australia.

AAR Postgraduate Scholarship in Dementia
The AAR Postgraduate Scholarship in Dementia supports a PhD student undertaking research in an area related to dementia. In 2010, one scholarship will be offered. Scholarships may be awarded in either biological/non-clinical and clinical/psychosocial research areas. The scholarship is worth $30,000 per annum each for three years (tax-free).

2010 Hunter Research Grant into the Causes of Alzheimer’s Disease
The Hunter Research Grant into the Causes of Alzheimer’s Disease is a one-off seeding grant for new researchers, valued up to $25,000 (exclusive of GST) for a research project relevant to understanding the causes of Alzheimer’s disease.

AAR Postdoctoral Fellowships in Dementia
The AAR Postdoctoral Fellowships in Dementia support PhD graduates undertaking research in an area related to dementia. In 2010, two fellowships will be offered. Fellowships are awarded in both biological/non-clinical and clinical/psychosocial research areas. The fellowships are worth $45,000 per annum each for two years, on condition that the applicants’ institution matches this annual sum.
