Volunteer workshop

A 3 hour non-accredited short course that delivers a basic understanding of dementia, its causes, and the impact dementia has on the person and their family. Participants will have the opportunity to learn the fundamental principles when interacting and engaging with a person with dementia.

Mind your MindTM

A short presentation that brings awareness of dementia risk reduction. While it is not yet known how to prevent or cure dementia, there is much evidence to suggest the lifestyle choices we make contributes to brain health and the risk of developing dementia. An interactive session that will deliver healthy brain strategies in seven simple lifestyle signposts. Thurs 23 Sept 2010

Memory & Ageing

This 2 hour presentation delivers an understanding of the myths about dementia and the issues relating to normal ageing and memory loss. An interactive session that aims to alleviate ageing worries and provide strategies to help your memory.

Mind your Mind

It is not yet known how you can prevent or cure dementia, but there is a lot you can do to keep your brain healthier as you age. Alzheimer's Australia's Mind your Mind program has seven signposts that may reduce the risk of developing dementia. Come along to a Mind your Mind presentation to learn more, and to find out the difference between normal memory loss and dementia.

Alzheimer’s Australia is presenting an information session between 10am - 11.30am, followed by a group discussion on concerns you may have about caring for your relative or friend, until 12.30pm.

 

There will be an opportunity for face to face discussions with the facilitator

between 2.00pm and 4.00pm on Tuesday afternoon.

The Memory Van will also be at the Council building for information about memory

concerns and what you can do to reduce the risk of developing dementia.
