   Dementia Training Institute of Australia

The Dementia Training Institute of Australia provides customised training for professional staff who care for people with dementia is available at the centre or on site in residential facilities.

Topics include:

  • dementia, what is it?
  • types of dementia
  • the nature and impact of dementia on the person and their family
  • dementia statistics and risk factors
  • appropriate approaches to care
  • appropriate management of behaviours of concern associated with dementia
  • reminiscence therapy for people with dementia and many others.

The Dementia Training Institute (DTIA) is a Registered Training Organisation and provides accredited training via the Demntia Care Competency CHACI5A, an 8 module course.

The Activity Workers' Course is a 12 hour course for people who provide activities for people with dementia.

Workshops and courses are conducted at the Association and aged care facilities both in South Australia and other states on request.
